Many of the ideas I came up with were implemented and have increased the customer base, therefore increasing turnover.My ICT A level has improved my computing ability and I can adapt to new software quickly, I have also developed my creativity skills further when using multimedia and graphic design software. This could be a valuable asset whilst studying this course.My business studies a level could also be invaluable on this course as it has given me the basic knowledge of businesses, how they operate and how Marketing is involved within them. Studying Marketing as a module has given me basic grounding of the subject, studying such topics as the marketing mix and the numerous marketing theories has given me the foundations of Marketing to build upon which will be beneficial because some topics may not come up within the degree, giving me additional understanding.Each of the subjects I have chosen to study at A Level can be linked with Marketing, some in more ways then others but each has given me experiences that have led me to choose Marketing as my subject to study.I play rugby which ensures I communicate and co-operate effectively and I also surf which has allowed me to travel and experience diverse cultures. I also constantly take part in the organization of events such as attending theatre plays or concerts or celebrating different occasions which helps me develop my organization, persuasion and manipulation skills.
Last year I was chosen to be the regional representative on a National Language Competence competition which included team working and producing an advertisement which had to show our concept of Bulgaria. We gave meaning to everyday items and succeeded in conveying our ideas to the public in just a few minutes which won us the second place.
I love creating different pieces of art-posters, cards, drawings in my free time. The drawing course I have attended helped me develop my spatial thinking and taught me to pay great attention to detail. I’d be glad to graduate a marketing communications course not only because it would lead to lots of job opportunities but also and mostly because it would give me the chance to work something I really enjoy. Outside of my economics classroom I enjoyed reading the books of Matt McGee (The good, the bad and the economist) and Jim Collins (Built to last) to deepen my knowledge for my own interest as well as my studies. Based on my performance in Economics, I was nominated to participate in EGMUN 2012 as the representative of the UK in ECOFIN. Debating economics issues with bright-minded young people was truly inspiring. As a Higher Maths student, the head Maths teacher decided to recruit me as her first-ever student assistant in Standard level classes. This job demanded patience and creativity and I greatly developed my communication and cooperative skills. I have also worked part-time at a law firm, where my duties required financial knowledge, time management and responsibility. There I engaged Katarina Nordquist, co-founder of the firm, as my personal mentor to deepen my knowledge about managing a company and understanding corporate strategies and the behaviour of organisations. In my gap year I have moved to Melbourne, Australia, to Au Pair for Nick Garnham, co-owner of the furniture manufacturer Jardan whom I engaged as my mentor. I frequently visit the Melbourne office to get more insight into the behaviour and running of a large company and the barriers of trade effect. Experiences with my mentors and their companies has made me determined to find my own place in the entrepreneurial world. The wide range of courses offered at your institution will allow me explore a number of different fields before settling for a specialisation.Your university, your courses, seminars, and conferences will challenge me academically and make me grow, both as a student and as an entrepreneur.
